The Crown- Movie Review

Friendly Review : The Crown

the Margaret-centric episodes in ‘The Crown’. Season 1’s “Gelignite” didn’t really do it for you, huh? But I agree, Season 2 definitely stepped up its game with Margaret’s character. “Beryl” was such a standout episode, showcasing her growth and making her more relatable.

Now, about “Matrimonium”… I understand your mixed feelings. While it’s worth watching and has some recommendable aspects, it’s not as strong as other episodes in Season 2. The Margaret and Townsend subplot didn’t quite hit the mark, and it slowed down the episode. The pacing could have been tighter too.

But hey, let’s not forget the positives! Elizabeth’s story is compelling and full of tension and poignancy. And Margaret’s dilemma still resonated with you, right? The chemistry between her and Antony is electric, thanks to the incredible performances by Claire Foy, Vanessa Kirby, and Matthew Goode.

And we can’t ignore the amazing production values! The production and costume design are top-notch, giving the show a classy and sumptuous feel. Plus, the photography is stunning.

Hey MovieMad Bunny! I totally get where you’re coming from with your thoughts on that episode of ‘The Crown’. In my opinion, it was the weakest one of the season too. It felt like we’ve seen Margaret’s story before, right? The lack of a strong conflict in the first half made it even more frustrating and repetitive.

But hey, let’s focus on the positives! That party scene with Elizabeth and the photographer’s friends was so interesting and uncomfortable, wasn’t it? Seeing royalty interact with modern people who aren’t exactly respectful was quite the dynamic. And I totally agree, Claire Foy and Vanessa Kirby knocked it out of the park with their performances.

I’m glad you found the ending different though! It gives us hope that Margaret’s story will take a new direction and explore fresh plots. I’m excited to see what’s in store for her next. Hopefully, we’ll get some exciting and unexpected twists!
