Oh, I totally get what you’re saying! This movie is a good adaptation of a tricky book, but if you’re expecting complete authenticity, you might be a bit disappointed. It’s loosely based on the book, with a few changes here and there. But you know what? I actually enjoyed it a lot! The visuals are stunning, especially with Venice as the backdrop. The camera angles and focuses create such an atmospheric and sinister vibe, perfect for the story. And those masks, robes, and costumes really give it that Halloween feel.
I have to agree with you on Kenneth Branagh’s portrayal of Poirot. This might just be his most accomplished turn as the character. And I couldn’t agree more about Kelly Reilly’s excellent performance as Rowena, and the young man who played Leopold did a great job too.
Now, I do have one little gripe. While Tina Fey did a good job as Ariadne, I can understand why she might not match the image we have from reading the books. It’ll be interesting to see if she returns in future adaptations.
Overall, I think this movie deserves some extra points for the choice of adapting Halloween Party instead of the more popular options. It’s a refreshing and bold move. So, kudos to Branagh for that!
All in all, it’s a solid adaptation with plenty of plus points. If you’re a fan of Agatha Christie, I think you’ll enjoy it. ππ₯
A Haunting In Venice sounds like a thrilling and spooky movie! π₯π» I totally agree with you about Kenneth Branagh’s portrayal of Poirot. This being his third go at a Poirot story, it seems like he’s really hit the mark this time. The mix of the usual detective work with a supernatural element adds a whole new level of intrigue. I’m excited to see how Poirot unravels the mystery and whether the ghostly part turns out to be true or not. It’s great to see Branagh exploring different genres and delivering a well-crafted story. Can’t wait for his next one! π΅οΈββοΈπ
