I totally get what you mean! Oppenheimer was a challenging watch, but definitely worth it. I loved most of it, but there were moments that held me back from adoring the whole thing. It’s like Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk, which clicked on a second watch. Maybe Oppenheimer will have the same effect. It was a long and exhausting film, so I don’t feel the need to rush and see it again right away.
But let me tell you, it was exceptionally well made! The visuals and sound were amazing, capturing the time period perfectly. The sound design and score were top-notch. And Cillian Murphy’s performance was outstanding! He’s definitely a front-runner for awards consideration.
The film shines as a psychological thriller, especially when it explores the famous historical figure. It even takes a turn into psychological horror at one point, with a terrifying speech sequence. Despite the story being well-known history, it still manages to keep you on the edge of your seat.
I do agree that the final hour felt a bit long. Maybe if it had been a shorter epilogue, it would have been even better. Personally, I would have loved it more if it were 2.5 hours instead of 3. But overall, Oppenheimer is still worth seeing in cinemas. It’s a worthwhile experience! 😄🎥
